The Waiting

Out in the mind of the wasteland where all is just fine/ dandy/ this goodness is wasted/ this inspiration put on hold/ by the mind of all that is to be/ that is to come/ I wait/ for this land to rise/ to fall/ and explode/ and make me full/ of everything that is to be/ that is to get done/ that is to be put on hold/ on hold/ and forgotten/ on hold and I wait/ for them to come/... / this is starting to be something/ surrealistic/ total bullshit/ total nothing/ ... / and I wait for this moment/ to come/ what is the moment/ what is this that I am waiting for/ I am waiting for the moment where I fall in love/ where I look back and wonder/ how'd I got so far/ that I look back and say/ what a long way I still got to go/ ... / she walks the streets I never walked/ she say the things I never say/ she holds the truth that I'll never know/ I am waiting to know what she knows/ I am waiting to walk the street she walks/ to see the things that she sees/ to feel the things that she feels/ and maybe she waits for the moment that I am waiting for/ ... / and I am waiting for the sky to come down and offer us a way to Heaven by creating the blue steps that we can walk up/ On a wall somewhere/ it says "BIRD LIVES"/ and I am waiting to hear the notes pound from that holy graffiti/ from those two simple words that only lives through the speakers/ On another wall somewhere/ "FREE MUMIA"/ and I am reminded that I am waiting for the time when police brutality ends/ I see the name Leonard Peltier/ and I am reminded I am waiting/ waiting for when politcs stay out of justice/ ... / and I am watching the snow fall in their majestic slow way/ falling down/ softly/ soft/ soft/ and I want to fall like that sometimes/ into some holy mess where I land softly/ soft/ soft/ like I am just waking up from a dream where I was falling/ and my head hit the pillow/ saved again and nobody needed to be crucified for this kind of falling/ nobody needs to be reminded of this moment that was coming/ nobody had to preach about how to prepare for this moment/ it's when the fire burns in everyone heart/ like a furnace in the dead of the winter/ like a bonfire out of rusted trash bins where the homeless try to stay warm/ when words of revolution gets written on the back of a brown cardboard sign/ on the other side it said "WILL WORK FOR FOOD"/ ... / but I fear the moment will not come while I am alive/ it may not even come within a hundred years/ because humans just do the same stupid shit/ over and over again/ punishment handed down to the grandsons/ and so on/ I am waiting for the two sides to say/ hey, what we are doing/ have all being done before/ I learn from your mistake as I have learned from my own/ we shall remember those mistakes/ and teach our kids the right way to be/ the right way to live/ in peace/ harmony/ love/.../ I am waiting for love...
